PORT MATILDA, Pa. - Gerhard William Anderson, 85, of 33?8 Marengo Road, Port Matilda, Centre, County, Pa., formerly of Painted. Post, died Thursday, June 13, 1996, in the University Park Nursing Home, State College, Pa. He retired in 1973 after 27 years as a foundry molder for the former J.P. Ward Foundry in Blossburg. He served as a technical sergeant with the Headquarters Company, Third Battalion, 27th Infantry of the Army. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one bronze star and the Asiatic Service Medal with three bronze stars. He was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, State College, Pa., and a former member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Corning. James L Schwartz Home for Funerals, Mifflinburg, Pa., is handling the arrangements.
