M. Lucille Bellis, 86, of Streator passed away at 4:15 A.M. Friday May 20, 2011 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Streator.
A celebration of Lucille's life will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday June 11, 2011 at the Vermillion Boat Club. Lucille's request was to have her body donated to medical science. The Solon-Telford Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements.
Born December 24, 1924 in Streator she was the daughter of James and Della (Stocking) Taylor.
She married Raymond Bellis on November 9, 1946. He died October 2, 1977.
She is survived by daughters, Janet Weir of Cambridge, Sheri (Don) Clift of Manville, Tere (Tom) Calkins of Streator, Jackie (Tom) Wieczorek of Streator and Beci Bellis of Minneapolis, Minnesota; sons, Bob (Joni) Bellis of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Don (Susan) Bellis of Marietta, Georgia; 18 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 4 step great-grandchildren and brothers, John Taylor of Princeton and Bill (Doris) Taylor of Annawan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a granddaughter, Shannon Bellis; sisters, Marie Fryman and Ruth Faulkner and brothers, James and Bob Taylor.
Lucille attended Buda Elementary and High School.
During WW II Lucille worked as welder at the Seneca Shipyards
