Mary Louise Butler, 75, of Kennett, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at Kennett.
Born Aug. 27, 1935, in Tuscumbia, Ala., daughter of the late Hugh and Alice Mozell Guest Wellington, she was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, playing cards, watching television and spending time with family and friends. She was of the Baptist faith.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Jackie Butler, of Kennett, and Billy Butler and wife, Laura, of New Jersey; three daughters, Marilyn McCloud and husband, Randy, of Hayti, Mo., Tina Smith and husband, Eddie, of Kennett, and Loretta Rodgers and husband, Steve, of Farmington, Mo.; two sisters, Edna Jones, of Bragg City, Mo., and Patricia Martin, of Hayti, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Alice Mozell Guest Wellington; her husband, Douglas Butler, one son, Jimmy Butler; four brothers, Roy, Sam O'Neal and Sonny Wellington, and four sisters, Vera Wellington, Beatrice Quick, Hattie Lyell and Buella Saint.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 20, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with Rev. Glen Davis officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti.
Pallbearers were Matt Owens, Thomas Lyell, Terry McCloud, Paul and Elmer Jones and David Thomas.
Honorary pallbearer was Chris Goforth.
