A very pretty wedding took place Thursday, March 31, at high noon, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cuykendall near Manlius, when their only daughter, Ruth Mather, became the bride of George Brown Hoagland of Auburn. The ceremony was performed by Dr. Charles E. Hamilton, President of Cazenovia Seminary, and a relative of the bride, in the presence of the immediate families of the bride and groom. Grace Cuykendall, a niece of the bride, acted as ring bearer. The bride was gowned in blue taffeta and wore a corsage bouquet of lillies of the valley. The color scheme was yellow and white. After congratulations a wedding dinner was served.
Upon their return from a short wedding tour, Mr. and Mr. Hoagland will make their home in Auburn where the groom is employed in the postoffice, while, the bride is a teacher in the Auburn High school. Out of town guests were present from Moravia, Merrifield, Syracuse and Auburn.
