Charles William James, 42, son of Mrs. Helen James of Austin, died Tuesday in St. Joseph Infirmary, Louisville, of a gunshot wound in the head.
Mr. James, who was living with his aunt, Mrs. Lenore Morgan, of Austin, was wounded wounded Monday morning about 9:30. The pistol shot entered his head behind the ear.
He was taken to the Louisville Hospital in a Buchanan Funeral Home ambulance; he lived about 24 hours, dying at 8:35 Tuesday morning.
The Louisville coroner's office is making an investigation of the case since death occured in Louisville.
Survivors of Mr. James, in addition to his mother and aunt, are his brother, Joe James, in Louisville, sisters, Mrs. Virginia Suellmacher of Detroit and Mrs. Pauline Ambuhl of Dayton.
The body is at Pearson's Funeral Home, Louisville."
