Son of Harry and Eliza Hoffman. After his father's death his mother took him to her home town of Bennington, Vermont, where he married Jennie Russell (1853-1937). Father of Harry (1873-1945), William (b. 1875), Albert (1878-1933), and Louie (1895-1972.)Was a painter and carpenter. In 1890 built a house in Hoosick Falls, NY. Moved to Worcester, MA where he died of blood poisoning as a result of a fall off a scaffold while repairing a building. Was buried in a family plot in Hoosick Falls, but Jennie is buried with son Louie in Westborough, MA.
