Janet van den Berg Hatch, age 79, of 2920 Crystal Lane, Park Village Pines in Oshtemo, formerly of Marshall, died Sunday night at Park Village Pines. Mrs. Hatch was the widow of Hazen J. Hatch, longtime Marshall attorney. Arrangements are pending at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home.

---Janet van den Berg Hatch, age 79, of Park Village Pines, Oshtemo Township and formerly of Marshall, died Sunday night, March 25, at Park Village Pines.
---Cremation has been conducted. Memorials services will be held Thursday at 11AM at Trinity Episcopal Church with Warner C. White, Rector officiating. Interment will be in Rice Creek Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the Trinity Episcopal Church. Envelops are available at the funeral home.
---Mrs. Hatch was born May 11, 1904 in Grand Haven to Lawrence and Clara (Vyn) van den Berg. She attended the University of Michigan. She was married May 28, 1927 at New Paltz, NY to Hazen J. Hatch. He preceded her in death Feb. 8, 1976. Mrs. Hatch was state director for Arts & Crafts for WWII veterans. She owned and operated "Top Drawer Service" from 1950 until the mid-1960's, which specialized in industrial gifts. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and was a past member of the Monday Club.
--Surviving are a son, H. van den Berg Hatch of Kalamazoo; a daughter, Mrs. Dustin (Janet) Ordway of Oneida, New York; 6 grandchildren, Mary Hatch, David Hatch, Clare Gengarelly, Dustin Ordway, Peter Ordway, and Jane Ordway; and a great-grandson, Robert Gengarelly.
