Preston Lee Adams 1926 ~ 2004 Preston Lee Adams, age 77, passed away peaceful1y at his home in Vista, CA, Saturday, February 21st, 2004. Preston was born August 9th 1926 in Plainview, TX to Ernest Preston Adams and Virgie Lee Alsup Adams. They moved to California during the depression in 1935 settling in Bell Gardens. During World War II he was awarded several medals while serving in Germany. From the time he was old enough to know what they were, he loved anything to do with cars. His career interests were as diverse as they were many. He drove for Signal Trucking in Los Angeles after he married Patricia Sisemore in 1947, mother of five of his eight children; sold cars and became a hair stylist owning his own salon (Darrell's House of Beauty) from 1959 to 1970 in Salt Lake City; and started his own grading and excavation business (Adams Brothers Equipment Rentals) in the early 1970's becoming an independent equipment operator in Vista, CA. He was highly respected in the community and in the construction business and was a valued member of the Vista Optimist Club for over 30 years. He is survived by his loving wife and soul-mate Michele Adams; Children - Thomas Preston Adams of Salt Lake City; Diana (Jim) Gibbons of Las Vegas, NV; Pamela (Mark C.) McEwan of Vista. CA; Rick (Lori) Adams of Valley Center, CA;; Julie (Don) Conde of Temecula, CA; Joshua Lee Adams of Vista, CA; Stepchildren: Tracy (Mark T.) McEwan of Vista, CA; Michael Babcock of Vista, CA; 18 grand children and 18 great-grand chi1dren; His sister Virginia Mark of Bebee, AR; and brother Don (Kay) Adams of Searcy, AR. Preceded in death by grandson Jarrod Preston Adams and sister Lou Ida Caster. Services will be held Sat., February 28th, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 1545 S. Melrose Dr., Vista, CA. Gravesite dedication will take place at 12:00 p.m. Eternal Hills Memorial Park, 1999 El Camino Real, Oceanside, CA. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in his name to Children's Hospital and Health Center, Cancer Research, 3020 Children's Way, San Diego, CA. 92123.
