Stillman Roy Aid, son of Stillman B. and Elba J. Aid, was born in Taylor County, Iowa, July 11, 1895, and departed this life Nov 15, 1960, at the age of 65 years, four months and two days.

On Feb 28, 1915, he was united in marriage to Wilma Beatrice Norman. To this union five children were born, three preceding him in death Nellie Marjorie, Arthur Norman and Alvin Eldred.

Survivors are his wife and two children, Roy Ivan Aid of Sunset, Utah, and Aletha Leora Linninger of Hawthorne, Nev; six grandchildren and one sister, Mrs Nellie Journey of Clarinda, Ia.

For a number of years he was engaged in farming in Taylor County and in later years was employed by the State Mental Institute, retiring in 1959 because of ill health.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of New Market, Ia, and leaves behind many neighbors and friends. He was a generous and devoted husband and father and will be greatly missed by his family.

Funeral services were conducted from the Walker Funeral Home at 2 pm Friday, Nov 18. The service was conducted by Rev Calvin Coughley of the First Baptist Church in Bedford. Jean and Joan Perry sand "In the sweet Bye and Bye" and "Beyond the Sunset." Organist was Mrs Grace Perry. Pall bearers were Robert McNees, Donald Pullen, Robert Vance, Wilbur Lininger, Kyle Hughes, and Harlan Prather. Honorary pallbearers were Art Evans, George Crawford, Lester Lininger, Walter Noble, Roy Graham and Press Mace. Dorothy McNees and Ann Vance were flower girls. Burial was in Old Memory Cemetery.
