Corliss Laisure Titusville Corliss U. Laisure, 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 4, 2009, at Parrish Medical Center. His family was by his side. He was born on Septem ber 9, 1929 in Michigan, but grew up in Laura, Illinois. After receiving a degree in Aero nautical Engi neering from Southern Illinois University he joined the Air Force to become a pilot. In 1956, he married Lucy Emogene Calhoun of Jack son, Mississippi. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the Air Force Reserve. He moved to Titusville, Florida in 1967 to work at the Kennedy Space Center. Corliss received a Mas ters Degree in Quality Engineering from the Flori da Institute of Technology and worked for Combustion Engineering and Florida Power & Light. He retired to his adopted hometown of Titusville where he enjoyed reading and play ing golf. Corliss was preceded in death by his parents, Corliss Ernest Laisure and Jessie Irene Carter Laisure and his wife, Lucy Emo gene Calhoun Laisure. Corliss is survived by a daughter, Debra Laisure and her partner, Daniel Smith of Orlando, FL; a brother, Robert Laisure of Goshen, IN; and two sis ters, Permilla Johnson of Ramona, CA and Patricia Emerick of Hillsboro, MO. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday June 9th, at North Brevard Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, June 10th, at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Titusville.
