Plymouth Tribune - 16 January 1908: Nancy Rachel, daughter of Joseph and Martha Hutchinson, was born in Holmes County, Ohio, June 7, 1855, and departed this life January 10th, 1908, aged 52 years, 7 months and 3 days. Her father died in the army when she was quite young, but being the eldest of the little family she assisted her mother in the brave struggle to keep the home together and thus early became acquainted with the stern realities of life. She was united in marriage to Isaac Cramer, Dec. 25, 1872. To this union were born eight sons and three daughters. Two sons and two daughters have done on before. She leaves her husband and seven children, seven grandchildren, two sisters and two brothers and numerous other relatives, friends and neighbors to mourn a vacancy that never can be filled. Very early in life she united with the Albright church, but later transferred her membership to the Methodist Protestant church. About seven years ago she joined the "Ancient Order of Gleaners" being a charter member of the Inwood lodge. Her last illness lasted two weeks. She kept her reason until the last and kissed the family good-bye, telling them that she was only waiting to cross over. She was ever a cheerful loving wife and mother, a ready and willing worker for the cause of Christ, and a friend a neighbor above reproach. The funeral was held at Jacoby church Sunday, Jan. 12, 1908 and was conducted by Rev. Albright Vermillion, her pastor. A large congregation was in attendance and beautiful flowers were contributed by her lodge.

A second obituary is found on the same page of the same edition of the newspaper: Mrs. Nancy R. Cramer died at her home 1 1/2 miles north of Inwood, at 2:30 o'clock Friday morning, aged 52 years. Deceased had been sick for about 2 weeks before her death. She is survived by her husband, Isaac, and five children, Mrs. Jennie Stone, of Center Township, Ernest of Plymouth, Otis who lives east of Plymouth, Lertus(sic) of Bourbon township, Benjamin, Lawrence and Wilbert, the latter three of whom reside at the home. The funeral was held at the Jacoby church Sunday morning at 10:00 o'clock. Burial in the Jacoby cemetery.

DISCREPANCY #1: The first obituary indicates she was the eldest child in her family which is contrary to information contained in the 1860 census which indicates she had an older sister, Martha, born ca1851 and brothers, David born ca1853 and George W. born ca 1855. Perhaps the intention was to indicate that she was the eldest surviving child in the family.

DISCREPANCY #2: The first obituary indicates she bore 8 sons and 3 daughters of which 6 sons and 1 daughter survive. The second obituary indicates that she is survived by 5 children but then identifies 1 daughter and 6 sons which does match the 7 surviving children stated in the first obituary.
