Otto J. Vieregge
Mr. Otto J. Vieregge, 87, of Hillsboro died Friday, February 16, at a Hillsboro nursing home. Born January 6, 1903, in Jarrell, the son of John William and Julia Basey Vieregge, he had lived in Athens, Waco and Smith Bend and had been in the auto repair business in Hillsboro over 40 years. He married Bertha Lee Allen July 12, 1933, in Hillsboro, and she died in August of 1982. Mr. Vieregge, a member of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro, is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Susan Vieregge of Hillsboro; three brothers, David Vieregge of Grand Prairie, Elmer Vieregge of Lubbock and Emmitt Vieregge of Midland; one grandson; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday February 18, at Edens Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Kenneth James officiating. Burial was at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro.
