M.J. was born on Jan. 27, 1986 in Waterbury, the beloved son of Michael John Neal Sr. and Kellie Lee Barrett, formerly of Woodbury. M.J. was a graduate of Nonnewaug High school in 2004. He was a Woodbury volunteer fireman and a devoted uncle.
M.J. brought joy and laughter into everyone's life that had the honor of knowing him. He loved to play his guitar and snowboard. His compassion for life and unbelievable smile will never be forgotten.
In addition to his loving parents, Michael and Kellie, he is survived by his sister Heather Tilley of Sheffield, Mass.; his niece, Cheyanne Tilley; nephew, Landon Tilley; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William J. Ludington of Woodbury; grandfather, Bud Neal of Woodbury; grandmother, Kathleen Mitchell of Canaan and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 28 at 11 a.m. at North Congregational Church, Woodbury. Burial will follow in New North Cemetery, Woodbury. Friends may call at the Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 2 School St., on Friday, May 27, from 6 to 9 p.m.
