Ardell Christian, age 91, of Waxahachie, passed away Wednesday evening, April 27, 2011 at Buffalo Creek Assisted Living Center. He was born July 17, 1919 in Evant County, Texas to Emmitt and Lottie (Chandler) Christian. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. Ardell was a retired Church of Christ minister and a longtime member of the College Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include his loving wife, Catherine Christian of Waxahachie; three sons, Tommy Christian, Mark Christian and wife Misty and Donnie Christian all of Waxahachie; one daughter, April Byrd; step-daughters, Marva Cooke and husband Wendell and Sharon Aday all of Waxahachie; 4 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; 5 step grandchildren; 14 step great grandchildren and 6 step great-great grandchildren. Ardell was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marie Christian; 3 brothers and 1 sister.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday, April 29, 2011 at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 4PM Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the Brown Street Church of Christ with Mr. Dean Kilmer officiating. Interment will follow at the Lakeview Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Julius Camarillo, Richard Gookin, Charles Christian, Jordan Burks, Don Coursey and John Sikes.
