Mr. Duley was 67 years old the first of last January, and had been a resident of this city and vicinity for about 20 years. He was a good, Christian gentleman, and was a member of the M. E. church. He was a soldier in the civil war and drew a pension of $12 per month, which he had arranged to go to his wife after his death.
By his first wife Mr. Duley left four sons and two daughters. G. W., C. W. and J. E. are living in this city and M. Duly residing at Sanborn, Minnesota, who was present at the funeral; one daughter, Mrs. George Rhodes, lives six miles south of town and Mrs. Nora Hughes at Moberly, Mo., who, owing to a sick child, could not attend the funeral. By his present wife three daughters and one son survive him.
The funeral took place at the M. E. church yesterday afternoon.
To the bereaved families we extend sympathy and can assure them that a good man has gone to a better reward.—The Beloit Times, June 16, 1898, Vol. III, #44
