Carmel Melissa Enlow was the 2nd oldest daughter of Thomas Franklin and Maude Mae Barnes Enlow.

She married Samuel L Gilbert in a double wedding ceremony with her sister Lucille Marie Enlow to William Bradley Watson on 01 June 1941 in the Severns Valley Baptist Church in Elizabethtown, Hardin County, Kentucky.

She was always known to us as "Aunt Tootsie". When my second daughter was born, I named her after my Aunt Tootsie and my Aunt Bettie Joe Enlow(Melissa Joe).

Carmel and Sam only had one child; Mary Linnie Gilbert(1942-2006).
Carmel worked in the photo shop in Elizabethtown, with my mom and Aunt Mary who owned the shop. Later when they moved to Louisville, she worked for J C Penney in downtown Louisville for many years.

At a very young age, she had polio which left one leg shorter than the other, causing her to walk with a limp. This never stopped Aunt Tootsie from being an inspiration to us all. She was kind, funny, loving and always caring.

She is deeply missed by all who had ever known her or were blessed enough to be a part of our family.
