He spent his entire life in Page County, Ia, farming for many years.
He was one of a family of twelve children, being preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and four sisters, Wilbur, Ralph, John (Ike), Eva, Ethel, Pearl and Flora.
He was united in marriage to Lena Blanche Slaight Nov 25, 1914. To this union was born two sons, Harold Lavern and Marvin Gail, both of Clarinda. He leaves his wife, his two sons, two daughters-in-law, Marcella and Pauline, seven grandchildren, Mrs Edward (Janice) Fallon of Glin, Belgium, Connie of Omaha, Nebr, Marcia of Red Oak, Joy Lynn, Jolene, Lyle, and Martin Gail of Clarinda, one great-grandson Eddie Fallon of Glin, Belgium, and one grandson-in-law Edward Fallon of Glin, Belgium. Three sisters, Mrs Fred (Nellie) Handorf of Clarinda, Mrs Amy Stoner and Mrs Nina Kelley both of Ottumwa, Ia, and one brother Wayne of Denver, Colo. Also a host of other relatives and many friends.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His joy of life was his home and his family.
He was active in community activities as long as his health permitted.
Funeral services were at the Walker Funeral Home at 2 pm Monday, June 19, conducted by Preacher Glen Mitchell of New Market. Mrs Verlin Larson sang "God's Tomorrow", and "Going Down the Valley", organist was Mrs Darrell Damewood.
Flower girls was Thelma Hargis, Darlene Yearous, and Marjorie Randolph.
Pall bearers, Keith Hargis, Gilbert Yearous, Floyd Handorf, Cletus Lake, Franklin Stoner, and Charles Ellison.
