Grant Pratt, a 75 year old Heyburn resident, died Saturday April 2, 1994 at his home in Heyburn, Idaho.

He was born May 24, 1919 in Cedar City, Utah to Arthur and Martha Norma Larsen Pratt. As a youth the family moved to Southern California. At the outbreak of World War II he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He and his wife, Virginia Evertsen Pratt, had been engaged to be married for several months, but were destined to wait until Nov. 28, 1944 for that event in the Salt Lake LDS Temple of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He saw much action during the war in North Africa, Italy and England with the First Armored Division.He was self-employed most of his working life as a grading contractor and in the self-survival and food storage business. He was active all his life in the LDS Church and served in many capacities. Mainly, as Elder's Quorum president, Single Adult organizations, Welfare Services, High Council, ward executive secretary and Patriarch. He and his wife served as ordinance workers in the L.A. Temple before their move here to Idaho 12 years ago. He and his wife filled a mission for the LDS Church in the Virginia Roanoke Mission in 1988-1989.

He is survived by his wife, three daughters and seven sons, Grant L. Pratt, Jr. (Cathy), Nicholas G. Pratt (Judith), Mrs. John Hendrickson (Jeanean), Mrs. Darrell Tilley (Karen), James M. Pratt (Jeanne), Rex J. Pratt (Jamie), Jeffrey L. Pratt, Craig E. Pratt, Scott D. Pratt and Mrs. Robert Hall (Teresa); 33 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, three brothers and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 1994 at the Rupert Idaho West Stake Center with Bishop Ernest Christensen officiating. Burial will follow in the Rupert Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary from 5 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday and at the church one hour prior to services on Thursday. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Hansen Mortuary in Rupert.
