Born in Bloomington, Ill., Mr. West lived in Missouri, New Mexico and Texas before coming to Aberdeen. For a number of years in Texas, he was a range rider on the famed King ranch.
When he first came to the Harbor, Mr. West was employed by Pacific Fruit and Produce Co. and later as a clerk at the Smoke Shop. He was a member of the Culinary alliance and Bartenders union, local 791.
Surviving are a son, Glenn E. West, Aberdeen; two daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Hicks, Aberdeen and Mrs. Rita Norbut, Bremerton; a sister, Mrs. Laura Osborn, Tacoma, and two brothers, Vernon West, Tacoma, and Ralph West, Lost Lake route, Elma, and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from the Elerding chapel with the Rev. Harold Black officiating. Interment will follow in Fern Hill cemetery. Pall bearers will be Glen Hicks, Bron Norbut, Emory Stephens, Claude Rhoades, George West and Lawrence Duncan.
