Joseph T. Book Succumbs; Sunday Services Set
Last rites are planned Sunday at 4 p. m. for Joseph T. Book, who succumbed at Tipton Memorial hospital Friday morning at 9 o'clock. An invalid for several years, the 84-year-man had been a patient at the hospital for three months.
Rev. Franklin Arthur, pastor of First Baptist church in Tipton, will officiate at services to be conducted
at S. S. Edwards Funeral home in Windfall. Burial will follow in Brookside cemetery here. Friends
may call at the funeral home, where the body will lie in state.
Born Jan. 4, 1869 in Mt. Vernon, Ill., his parents were Michael and Alice (Harvill) Book. He married Olive Coonce 45 years ago.
Surviving with the widow are several children. They are Mrs. Ray Norton and Mrs. Jack Fisher of Windfall; Mrs. Harry Adams, Tipton; Mrs. Orville Bennett, Berkeley, Calif; Mrs. Gerald Cottingham, Knightstown; Mrs. David Combs, Louisiana; Mrs. Rosie Nolhis, Arkansas; Louis Book, Memphis, Tenn; Alton Book of California, and Orville Book, of Tennessee.
Also survivng are two step-children, Mrs. John Barnes, of Windall, and Delbert Book, of Tipton, 23
grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Four children are deceased.
