CONCORD- Douglas Franklin "Kippy" Miller, a beloved husband, father, brother, and uncle, of Concord, passed away on Jan. 26, 2010, at Tucker Hospice house. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Pitts Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Scott Davis. The family received friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wilkinson Funeral Home.
Mr. Miller was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired from the City of Concord Electrical Department. Mr. Miller was born Jan. 6, 1948, in Cabarrus County to the late Louis C. and Irene Thompson Miller. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elaine Blackwelder Miller; daughter Ms. Veronica Renee Miller of Concord; and sister Mrs. Terry Halsey of Virginia.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081; or to Pitts Baptist Church Building Fund, 140 N.W. Pitts School Road, Concord, NC 28027.
