Jeanne Terese Jaeger, 83, Wausau, died Sunday, March 13, 2011 at the Mount View Care Center, Wausau.

She was born December 26, 1927 to the late John and Alvina (Biederman) Kleinheinz in Wausau.

A loving and accomplished wife, mother, grandmother and nurse, Jeanne was a world traveler and an adventure seeker. She will be forever remembered for her tenacious attitude, huge heart and love of animals.

Jeanne spent over 30 years as an OB nurse at the various hospitals in the Wausau area, having graduated from St Mary's School of Nursing in Milwaukee.

She was also a past president of the board of directors for the Marathon County Humane Society. An avid lover of horses, Jeanne was passionate about riding at an early age.

She loved to travel with her husband and made the island of Saint Maartin a second home.

Jeanne was strong willed, compassionate and fearless. She was easy to love. Her values and zest for life have been passed down to her family and those that knew her.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Erwin (Bud) Jaeger and daughter, Deborah (James) Falkowski of Denmark, WI; grandchildren, Derrick, Zora and Casimier (fiancé, Rachel) Falkowski; siblings, Sister (Ruth) Romaine Kleinheinz of LaCrosse, Phyllis Lattimer of PA, Lois (Edmund) Fleming of Sheboygen, Carol Strupp of Greenfield and James (Eileen) Kleinheinz of Chesapeake Beach, MD; and many more nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her brother, John Kleinheinz Jr.; and sisters, Dorothy Eisenbach, Patricia Hamerly and Alice Rounds.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Saint Florian's Catholic Church, Hatley. Father Alan Burkhardt will be officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Wednesday at the church and last until the time of services at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park at 1:00 PM on Wednesday.
