Polly first enlisted in the United States Navy in September of 1941 and re-enlisted after completing medical school at the University of Vermont. During her military career, she obtained the rank of Commander and served at the U.S. Navel Hospital in San Diego, The Navel Medical School in Bethesda, Maryland, and the U.S. Navel Hospital in Chelsea, Massachusetts. She resigned her commission in July of 1963 and moved to Brevard County shortly there after.
Polly practiced in Brevard County for many years, joining Dr. Edith Mangones medical practice with Dr. Otto Sorel. Later their practice welcomed Dr. James Sandberg and Dr. Angel Quinones. The final years of Pollys medical career were happily spent with Dr. Rebecca Wagaman until it was medically necessary for her to retire.
In addition to her family, Polly will be greatly missed by her many friends, colleagues and patients, and their families. She dedicated her life and her profession to helping all of us, for generation after generation. Through us, Polly, will always survive.
Private services will be held at Oakland Cemetery in Fairfield, Connecticut.
