JOHN BARTO
BRADFORD -- John C. Barto, 66, of Rural Route 1 died at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11,1996, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton.
Born July 31, 1930, in Kewanee to Clarence F. and Anna E. Real Barto, he married Marilyn Enos in 1952 in Memphis, Tenn. He married Norma Y. Skaggs on Nov. 10, 1956, in Dixon. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, John Richard Barto and Michael Barto, both of Bradford, and Randy McCullough of Fishers, Ind.; two daughters, Dianne Rupprecht of Pontiac and Stephanie Barto of Chicago; two sisters, Dorothy O'Donnell of College Park, Md., and Mary Clare Kenney of Arlington Heights; and eight grandchildren.
He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Bradford American Legion Post 445, where he formerly served twice as commander.
He farmed in the Bradford area and owned and operated the first Shrock fertilizer business in the area.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Bradford, Kewanee Elks Lodge 724; Mohammed Temple, Shrine of Peoria; and Royal Order of Jesters Peoria Court 40. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at his church. The Revs. Thomas Taylor, Heinc Ciesielski and Edward Harkrader will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m.
Monday at the church. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery near Bradford, where military rites will be accorded by his American Legion post.
Arrangements are by Johnson-Dunlap Funeral Home in Bradford. Memorials may be made to his church or Bradford Rescue Squad.
