Michael Patrick Blocker was his full name, son of Michael Benjamin Blocker and Mary Ann Graham.

He married Mary Ann Dockery on 24 October 1851 in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. They together had 7 children, Benjamin Franklin, John David, Cressie, Sarah Virginia, George Washington "Buck", Mary Armentha, and Michael B. Blocker.

He served our Country in the Civil War . He enlisted on 1 March 1862 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama. He fought in Fowler's (Phelan's) Alabama Light Artillery Company with his brother William C. Blocker.
