William Franklin Short
The Death of William Franklin Short, aged ninety, a life-long resident of this vicinity, occurred Satruday morning at the Otsego county hospital, following an extended illness.
Mr. Short was born in Cooperstown July 14th, 1846, the son of Augustus and Elizabeth Bowne Short. He was married to Miss Eveline Kilts of Westville, June 18th, 1869. She passed away in 1925.
Surviving are two sons, Louis L. Short of Westville and Lee H. Short of Cooperstown; one daughter, Mrs. Peter Dapper of BInghamton; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held from the home of his son, Lee, on South Avenue, Cooperstown, Monday, the Rev. Wheaton Webb, pastor of the Milford Methodist church, officiating. Interment was made in Westville cemetery.
