LULA V. ADAMS-LAWRENCE, 87, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2011, at her home with family by her side. A native of Brent, Ala., she retired from the Fort Wayne State Develop-mental Center, after 29 years of service. She was an active Missionary at Good Hope Baptist Church. Surviving are her daughters, Bobbie (Robert) Boughton, Lydia Lawrence and Rosemary Baker; sons, Terry (Mary), Kenneth (Anita) and Johnny (Rhonda) Lawrence; sisters, Jessie King, Dorothy Pearson, Aretha Colvin and Ethel White; former husband and friend, Robert Adams; and a host of grandchildren, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Lydia Billingsley; husband, Willie Lawrence; children, Chester Adams and Vivian Lawrence; and sisters, Josephine Thomas and Evelyn Billingsley. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2011 at Pilgrim Baptist Church, 1331 Gay St. with viewing one hour before service. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery. Arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home.
