Dorothy Anna Schoeneck Gordon passed away at Covenant Village in Northbrook, Ill., on Saturday, May 14, 2011. She was born on April 27, 1915, to Adolph and Bertha (nee Kushman) Schoeneck of Enterprise. In June 1938, she married John F. Gordon III of Orlando, Fla. They lived for a time in Orlando, and then moved to the Chicago area where Dorothy lived for over 50 years. She worked for many years for Illinois Bell, now part of AT&T.
Mrs. Gordon is survived by a daughter, Anne Wilson of Gainsville, Fla.; a son, John F. Gordon IV (Bill Salvato) of Lincolnwood, Ill.; a granddaughter, Cheryl W. Steed (Martin) of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; a grandson, Keith Wilson (Rita) of Warrenville, Ill.; five great grandsons, Michael Wilson, Timothy Drozd, Joseph Drozd, Maximum Wilson, and Erik Viovode; and three sisters, Olga Kastner of State Center, Iowa, Alice Buck of Ames, Iowa, and Alcena Haislmeier of Menominee Falls.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John F. Gordon III; a sister, Anna Olsen; and five brothers, William Schoeneck, Alfred Schoeneck, Rudolph Schoeneck, Lester Schoeneck, and Eugene Schoeneck.
Funeral services for Mrs. Gordon will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at the Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414 / www.carlsonfh.com) of Rhinelander with Rev. Dennis Kleist officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Enterprise Cemetery.
