Frances M. Becker, 81, passed away early Saturday morning (19 Mar 2011) at her home on South Main St, Wayland, NY.
Fran was born 18 Jun 1929 in Mt. Morris, New York the daughter of Charles Bonadonna and Jennie Barone.
The first few years of her life were spent in Mt. Morris until her family's move to Wayland, where she had remained a life resident. She was a 1947 graduate of Wayland Central School and her employment career included owning and operating the Bonton Shoe Store in Wayland for over 20 years. Fran has been a lifelong communicant of St. Joseph's Church. Her hobbies were many, as she enjoyed playing bingo, fishing in Florida and raising horses with her husband, Wayne. Fran also raised a couple of lambs right in her kitchen and would often take them out with her. However, one of Fran's greatest joys was traveling to Florida to camp. For over 30 years, she did this and enjoyed every minute of it. Fran also was known to get in her car and drive just about anywhere, and she was a member of the Red Hat Society.
Fran was predeceased by her parents, Charles Bonadonna and Jennie Barone; a grandson, Jason Becker; and a brother, Charles Bonadonna. She is survived by her husband; her children, nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, and several nieces and nephews.
Fran's family and friends called Monday (20 Mar 2011) at the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 W. Naples St., Wayland. A prayer service was offered for Fran at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday (21 Mar 2011) at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday (20 Mar 2011) at St. Joseph's Church in Wayland. Internment and committal prayers took place immediately following at St. Joseph's Old Cemetery in Wayland.
