Roy Clinton Hicks was born at Stafford, Kansas, Kans. April 19, 1897 and died at Hutchinson, Kansas November 5, 1915; age, 18 years, 6 months and 17 days.
His home was in Stafford until 2 years ago when the family moved to Hutchinson where Roy was employed at the Yaggy Plantation. He was taken sick with typhoid fever about three weeks ago and a week later was taken to the Methodist hospital at Hutchinson. The fever could not be broken and death cut off the young life at it's most promising period. It is a sad thing to see one just entering his life work taken from our midst but the Great Father knows best.
He leaves to mourn his loss a mother, father, one brother and two sisters besides many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Nov. 9th at 2:30 P.M. at the home of C. C. Wilson, his grandparents. Services were conducted by Rev. Buck who was assisted by Rev. O. H. Feiler of the Church of the Brethren at Hutchinson. Interment in the Stafford Cemetery.
