Private, Companies C & B, 7th Tennessee Cavalry; enlisted in Paducah, Kentucky on October 4, 1864. He was discharged with the 7th Tennessee when it disbanded at Nashville, Tennessee on August 9, 1865. He applied for an invalid pension in 1889. His wife applied for a widow's pension in April 1919.

Bio: In 1900 Gideon Jolley was living in Graves County, Kentucky with his second wife, Elizabeth Frances (Powers) Jolley. Also listed were his two children, Chester and Minnie, and three step children Samuel, Annie, and Whit Darnell. Their father was Elizabeth's first husband, James Darnell. Gideon Jolley was married at the time of his death, and the informant on his Tennessee COD was C. A. Jolley. His second wife applied for a widow's pension in April 1919.
