Services were at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center with the Rev. Arnold Punt officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. De Gooyer was born May 9, 1917, to Henry and Elizabeth (Hoursma) Addink in Sioux Center. She graduated from Sioux Center High School. She married Donald R. De Gooyer in 1935. She and her sister Gertrude ran a catering business while she was fully engaged in homemaking. She enjoyed creating and painting ceramics and playing cards and games. Outdoor activities such as winter picnics and nature walks were among her favorite things to do. SHe also enjoyed many precious visits from her grandchildren, whom she dearly loved.
She was a member of Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center and was involved in the Ladies Circle.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years; three sons, Millard and Maureen of Spencer, Donald D. and Nelva of Sioux Center and Jim and Charlene of Rock Rapids; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Bruinsma of Hull; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; three sisters; one grandson; one great-grandson.
