Wife of Charles E. Bolles Passes Away After Long Illness—Funeral Will Be on Sunday

After an illness of many weeks, Mattie Bolles, wife of Charles E. Bolles, passed away Thursday morning at her home, 358 Lake street, Oak Park. She was born in Chicago December 29, 1846, the daughter of George W. and Ann Butterfield. On September 19, 1867, she was married to Charles E. Bolles, who survives her. She leaves one daughter, Maud Bolles Gale, wife of Abram Gale, 223 Kenilworth avenue, and two grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Mrs. Frankie Allabach, who has lived with her for several years, and by two brothers, Charles and Samuel Finley.
Mrs. Bolles had traveled extensively in Europe and in the United States. She was possessed of a social, kindly and charitable nature, which had won her a large circle of friends. She has been for many years a devoted member of the First Congregational church and has been deeply interested in all the activities of the church, which she dearly loved. Mrs. Bolles was a faithful member of the Ladies of the Post, of the Hephizibah Home board, of the Nineteeth Century club, of the Sesame circle and of the Art Institute of Chicago. The funeral will be held at her late residence on Sunday, April 17, at 2:30 o'clock, and will be conducted by her pastor, Dr. Barton. The interment will be at Forest Home.
