Mrs. Vanessa Elaine Combs Church, age 49, of Hunter Road, North Wilkesboro died Thursday, February 5, 2009 at home.
Funeral services were held Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Fishing Creek Arbor Baptist Church with the Rev. David Wellborn officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Church was born June 22, 1959 in Wilkes County to C. C. "Jack" and Zell Williams Combs. She was co-manager of Housing at Northwestern Regional Housing Authority. Mrs. Church was a member of Fishing Creek Arbor Baptist Church where she served as church secretary, Sunday School teacher, on the Finance Committee, former Youth Choir and Youth Director.
Mrs. Church was preceded in death by her father C.C. "Jack" Combs.
She is survived by: her husband, Larry Wayne Church, Sr. of the home; one son, Larry Wayne Church, Jr. and wife, Jennifer of North Wilkesboro; her mother, Zell Williams Combs of North Wilkesboro; two sisters, Norma Hayes and husband, Bill of Mechanicsville, VA, Doris Sebastian and husband, Jeral of McGrady, one brother, Dean Combs and wife, Diane of North Wilkesboro; grandchildren, Levi Church and Evan Church of North Wilkesboro.
