Mary Catherine (Minter) Kelbaugh Goodwin Trine was the daughter of John Martin Minter and Mary Minter of Manchester, Carroll County, Maryland. She married three times, producing children from each marriage. First she wed Noah Kelbaugh in 1855, and became the mother to William Henry Kelbaugh in 1856 and Julia Ann Rebecca Kelbaugh in 1858. It is unknown what dissolved the marriage between Noah and Mary.

By 1861 she was married to a John Goodwin, and this union produced a son, John Goodwin, Jr. The elder John Goodwin was killed during the Civil War.

In 1866 Mary became the second wife to Emanuel Trine. Mary was the niece to Susannah Trine, Emanuel's first wife. This marriage produced a daughter, Laura May Trine in 1871.

Records indicate that Mary Catherine Trine died on December 21, 1877, but there is no record of her burial. It is surmised that she may be buried in the Immanuel Lutheran Churchyard in Manchester (Carroll County) Maryland, as this is the resting place of her parents and grandparents.
