Robert "Bob" Bergstrom
Age 68, of Ocean View, DE, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the United States Air Force . Bob was born in Knoxville, Iowa the son of the late, Harold and Elizabeth (Bullen) Bergstrom. He was a Cpl. for the Delaware State Police (Canine Unit), retiring in 1989 after 20 years of service. Bob also worked as a Bailiff for the Court of Common Pleas of Sussex County from 1991 to 1997. Bob was Past Master and Secretary of the Masonic Doric Lodge # 30 of Millville; member of the Grand Staff of Delaware; Past Grand Tall of Delmarva Forrest #201 Tall Cedars of Lebanon of Selbyville; and a member of the Scottish Rite of Delaware Valley.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Mary "Kelly" Bergstrom; 2 sons, Eric and Scott Bergstrom and his fiancé, Shannon Rekstad; daughter, Amy Ormord and her husband Robert; 2 grandchildren, Tyler and Jillian.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 15, at 12 noon, at the chapel of MELSON FUNERAL SERVICES on West Avenue in Ocean View, where friends may call after 10 am and a Masonic Service will be held at 11:45 am. Burial will be private.
