Mrs. Adams before her marriage to Mr. Adams sixty years ago, was Miss Martha Funk, a daughter of the late Johnthan Funk and was born at Singers Glen March 11, 1836. She was a Christian woman, whose many kindly traits of character endeared her to all who knew her.
Mrs. Adams is survived by her husband, who is distantly related to the second President of the United States, John Adams. Mr. Adams' grandfather, William Adams was a second cousin of President John Adams, and these children: W. P. Adams, with whom she lived George W. Adams, Jr., of Grove City, Ohio; Mrs. Lizzie Ritchie, of Mount Clinton; Mrs. Jane Harpine of Nokesville, and Mrs. Nanie Lamb of Bristo.
Mrs. Adams had been an exemplary member of the Church of the Brethren for many years and was always interested in its progress and influence.
The funeral services will be conducted in the Main Street Church of the Brethren in Bridgewater by Rev. H. C. Early and Rev. A. M. Thomas Saturday at 11 A. M. Burial will be made in the cemetery nearby.
The pallbearers will be: D. L. Shickle, J. D. Long, L. M. and A. Hollen, S. M. Miller and J. A. Coffman.

Adams, Sister Martha, nee Funk, wife of Bro. George Adams, born March 11, 1836, died Feb. 10, 1916, in the Beaver Creek congregation, Rockingham County, Va., aged 79 years, 10 months and 29 days. She was a faithful member for many years. During her illness she was anointed. She is survived by her husband, with whom she had lived for sixty years, two sons and three daughters. Services by Elders A. S. Thomas and H. C. Early at Bridgewater, where interment was made. Text, 2 Tim. 4:6-8.
