Mark Allen Harvison, 40, of Gambrills, died June 2 as a result of injuries sustained when he fell overboard while boating with a friend in the Chesapeake Bay. He was born December 4, 1970 in Washington DC, the son of Billy Joe and the late Diane Harvison. He attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. Mark originally planned to be a history teacher, but he "loved building things" and recently took a job in design and sales of home automation solutions. Mark is survived by his son Ryan, who is seven, of Towson; Father, and step mother, Billy & Karen Harvison of Gambrills; brother, Chris Harvison of Gambrills; brother and sister in-law, Tom and Jennifer Shankle of Church Hill; brother, Mike Shankle of Pasadena; sister and brother in-law, Debbie and Scott Kedroski of Bowie; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. The funeral service was held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday June 9 at Grace Baptist Church in Bowie, MD. Following the funeral service the interment was held at the Crownsville Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Ryan Harvison Educational Fund, c/o M&T Bank, 118 Market Place Gambrills, MD 21054.
