August "Auggie" Charles Daley was born on April 28, 1907, in Trinidad, Colorado to Mary 'Rachael' Leplat, a native of Colorado and coal miner, John Daley, a native of Illinois.

He was married three known times, first to Ella, then briefly to Naomie Hopkins and his last wife was Rose Mary Mire. He had one son, August, Jr, by his 2nd wife Naomie in 1939 and two daughters, Rose Mary and Jacqueline Ann by his last wife, Rose.

August’s parent were divorced in 1920. His mother moving the children to Fresno, California where she married George Pazin. He and his siblings incorrectly thought they were legally adopted by their stepfather and until the mid 1940’s used the last name Pazin. Therefore, August’s early records reflect his name as August Pazin.

August made a career of the US Navy and spent many years serving aboard assorted ships as a cook. After retirement from the navy he worked civil service at the Naval Air Station, Norfolk.

At the young age of 57, August died at DePaul Hospital, Norfolk, of congestive heart failure. He was survived by his wife, Rose; daughter, Rose Mary, her husband James Smith, Jr., daughter, Jacqueline Ann and numerous siblings.

August had 5 Daley siblings, 4 of whom survived him, John, Patrick, Arine and Kathryn. There had been a Daley baby that died in infancy. He also had 5 Pazin half-siblings, 4 of whom survived him, Mary, Georgetta, George and Rosie May. His brother, Leo Pazin being the only one to predecease him. His baby sister Rosie still survives.

It is currently unknown what became of his son, August, Jr.

Obituary:

August Daley, 57, of 578 McFarland Road, husband of Mrs. Rose Mary Daley and son of Jack and Mrs. Rachel Leplett Daley, died in a hospital Wednesday at 5:45 p.m.
A native of Trinadad, Colo., he lived in this area 25 years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and worked for the Navy Exchange at Norfolk Naval Air Station.
Besides his widow, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. James R. Smith Jr. and Miss Jacqueline Daley of Norfolk; five sisters and three brothers, all of California; and a grandchild.
The body will be taken from H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Holy Trinity Catholic Church for a funeral service Friday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
The Rosary will be recited in the funeral apartments tonight at 7:30.
