MRS R. M. GIRTON, 50 DIES
End Comes Suddenly at Garrison Avenue Home
Carthage Woman Had Resided in County Most of Life - Three Daughters Survive
Mrs. Rilla M. Girton died quite suddenly at 6 o'clock yesterday evening at the Girton home on South Garrison Avenue. Mrs. Girton, who had been confined to her room the past seven months suffering from heart trouble, was sitting in a chair awaiting her supper. The nurse had just brought the meal in on a tray when Mrs. Girton fell over dead.
Mrs. Girton was 50 years old, having been born March 6, 1868 in Greenfield. She spent most of her life in Jasper county living in and near Jasper when a girl. The last 25 years she has resided in Carthage. She was a member of the First Methodist Episcopal Church.
Three daughters, Mrs. Patsy Estelle of Chicago, Miss Ruth Underhill and Miss Pauline Girton survive. Two brothers and four sisters also survive. They are Henry and Vic Bender of Jasper; Mrs. J. M. King and Mrs. B. White of Greenfield; Mrs. Lillie Whitlock of Pueblo, Colorado and Mrs. George Cowland of Bedford, Oklahoma.
Funeral arrangements have not been made pending word from relatives living at a distance. Mrs. Estelle is expected to arrive in Carthage tonight.

Services Will Be Held Tomorrow Afternoon at the Home
The funeral of Mrs. Rilla M. Girton, who died Sunday evening, will be held at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the residence, 1550 South Garrison Avenue. Rev. Dr. W. G. Clinton pastor of the First M.E. Church will conduct the services. Burial will be at Park Cemetery in the Underhill family lot.
First husband, Theodore Underhill preceded her in death in 1900, a son, Paul Girton preceded her in death (d. 6 Nov 1905)
