Mrs. Slaughter Services Today
Graveside services for Mrs. Lula Lamar Slaughter, 82, resident of Rte. 2, Byron, who died yesterday following a lengthy illness, will be held at 4 p.m. today at the Lamar Cliett Cemetery in Powersville. The Rev. Sanford Willis will officiate. Mrs. Slaughter was born in Peach County and had lived all of her life in Powersville. She was a member of the Powersville Methodist Church, and was a retired telegraph operator for the Central of Georgia Railroad. Survivors include a brother, George A. Lamar, Powersville; four nieces, Mrs. Marie Pilcher, Macon; Mrs. Bennie English, Ft. Valley; Mrs. Mildred Hoover, Charlotte, N.C.; and Mrs. Thelma Hartley, Jekyll Island; one nephew, Louis Lamar. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Crest Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
