Eugene Clark was born to Harry & Florence Clark on a farm near Fairfield, Wayne County, Illinois. Family lore has it that the farm was near the Shelton Brothers. A man of many traits he was skilled in many areas. He worked many jobs over his life time he worked for the Turner Brothers Circus, worked on farm, worked on automobiles but his main career he worked many years till retirement at Allis-Chalmers (which was later Fiat-Allis) in Beardstown and Springfield, Illinois working as a welder and electrician. He married 5 February 1948 Betty Jane Kaffenberger at Beardstown, Cass County, Illinois daughter of William McKinley Kaffenberger and Winifred Catherine Baehr. To this union two sons were born. Gene passed away at home of cancer.
