Hazleton Standard Speaker; Tuesday, May 31, 1988:

Mrs. Ella Helen Sefcik, 88, of Box 322, Lattimer Mines, died this morning at 1:53 at the Hazleton-St. Joseph Medical Center, following an illness of one week. Born in Lattimer Mines, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna (Tabaka) Sabol, and a member of St. John's B.C. Church, and the Rosary Society of the parish.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was her husband, Metro, who died in 1972; two sons, Joseph and Peter; one daughter, Mrs. Helen Lipko; two brothers, Joseph and John; and three sisters, Mrs. Anna Russin, Margaret Sabol, and Mrs. Mary Yaniga. Surviving are two children, Anna, at home, and John, Bridgeport, Conn.; four sisters, Mrs. Verna Mishkin, Ebervale; Mrs. Susan Schrum, Bridgeport, Conn.; Mrs. Betty Cotsack, Drexel Hill, and Mrs. Helen Malardo, Upper Darby; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 8:30 a.m. from the Frank J. Bonin Funeral Home Inc., Second Street entrance. A Divine Liturgy with Office of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. in St. John's B.C. Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A parastas service will be held on Thursday.
