FORT GREEN, Fla. -- Mrs. Aileen Singletary Abbott, 89, of Fort Green, formerly of Rowland, N.C., died Tuesday in Lake Placid Health Care Center.

Mrs. Abbott was a homemaker and a past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star of North Carolina. She was a member of Fort Green Baptist Church.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Maxton, N.C., by the Revs. Larry Sawyer and Johnny Singletary. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Boles Funeral Home & Crematory of Rowland.

Mrs. Abbott is survived by her husband, Jesse H. Abbott of Wauchula; a son, Gilbert Singletary of Rowland; a daughter, Peggy C. Branch of Lake Placid; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church.
