U.S. Congressman. He moved to Kansas, with his parents in 1869, attended Campbell University, engaged in banking, the relocated to Kentucky, in 1892 and was in the wholesale lumber business. He was president of the National Bank of London and master commissioner of the Laurel circuit court, (1898-04). In 1905, he was elected as a Republican to the Fifty-ninth, Sixtieth and Sixty-first Congresses, serving until 1911. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he resumed his previous business interests until his death at age 77.
