US Congressman. He graduated from Georgetown College Kentucky, in June 1860, studied law, admitted to the bar in 1862 and commenced to practice law in Henderson, Kentucky. He was a member of the Kentucky State Senate in 1870 and elected as a Democrat to the Forty-eighth Congress, serving (1883-85). An unsuccessful candidate for re-nomination, he resumed the practice of law, served as Henderson City Attorney, plus was attorney for the St. Louis & Southern Railroad and the Ohio Valley Railway Company. He died at age 80 in Henderson, Kentucky.
