Jeanne was the daughter of Leona M. Hennequin & Harold Strickland Evans. Her ancestors came to America from England, Wales and France and settled in Connecticut and Massachusetts. She had five sisters and one brother.

About 1944, Jeanne married Walter Maliauski from Jersey City, New Jersey. This was during World War II. Walter was in the U.S. Merchant Marines. In 1945, their daughter Leona was born. Following the war and Walter's discharge from the military, they settled in northern New Jersey near his family. Jeanne and Walter divorced in 1957. She lived with her daughter in Paterson, Passaic County, New Jersey.

In 1961, Jeanne married Dan Siegel and relocated to Ho-Ho-Kus in Bergen County, New Jersey, where they operated a store. In the late 1960s, they moved to California where she died at age 54.
