Vernie Belle Mauldin

BAIRD - Vernie Belle Mauldin, 89,of Baird, died Monday in an Abilene hospital. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Baird, with the Rev. Miller Robinson officiating, assisted by the Rev. Ross Ellis. Burial will be in the Belle Plaine Cemetery, directed by Parker Funeral Home.

Mrs. Mauldin was born in Roby and had lived in the Rowden community for 64 years before moving to Abilene three years ago. She married Eugene S. Mauldin at Sylvester.She was a seamstress and had worked at Aileen's in Snyder and Rita Barber in Abilene. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Baird.

Survivors include her husband, Eugene S. Mauldin of Abilene; three sons, Carl Mauldin of Comanche, Roland Mauldin of Denton Valley, and Don Mauldin; of Cape Coral, FL; two daughters, Irene Masters of Snyder and Marjorie Brown of San Antonio; a brother, Lawrence Cooper of Friona; 17 grandchildren; 38 great- grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
