Otis married Lydia V Babbitt on 9 Jun 1875 at Andalusia, Illinois. To this union five children were born. The family moved from Millersburg, Illinois to Glenwood in 1892. The trip was made in covered wagons. Otis and Lydia lived in Glenwood until his death.
After several months of sickness, Otis died at his home in Glenwood at the age of 70 years 6 months 24 days.
