CSA Congressman. He served in the United States Army during the Mexican War. After the start of the Civil War, he was elected as a Delegate from Kentucky to the Confederate Provisional Congress from 1861 to 1862, and as a Representative from Kentucky in the Confederate Congress from 1862 to 1865.
